Five trophies for Speedhouse at the end of the 2023

Five trophies for Speedhouse at the end of the 2023 EuroNASCAR season

The team finished second in the overall EuroNASCAR PRO standings, third in the Junior Trophy, first in the Lady Trophy, and second and third in the Club Challenge

An amazing 2023 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season has come to a close and Speedhouse was involved in several title battles. A dramatic final race of the season culminated in a thrilling EuroNASCAR PRO title battle. Team owner Lucas Lasserre had to settle for second place, while Ulysse Delsaux completed the podium in the Junior Trophy. Florian Richard and Alain Mosqueron completed the Challenger Trophy podium, Arianna Casoli scored a record-breaking fourth Lady Trophy win. Speedhouse celebrated the season in style, in keeping with the team's motto of "Racing, Style and Good Times".

Lucas Lasserre was among the title contenders in EuroNASCAR PRO after winning the season-opening race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. With his consistency, the Pau native was still in the mix when he took his #64 Ford Mustang to Circuit Zolder in Belgium. With double points on the line, Lasserre moved to the top of the standings with a phenomenal win in the rain on Saturday. The Frenchman came close to winning the championship on Sunday, but was spun by Gianmarco Ercoli's step-brother Mario Ercoli and received a penalty for a starting infringement that dropped him to tenth in the race, handing the title to Gianmarco Ercoli.

Nevertheless, Lasserre proved Speedhouse's top team status with a phenomenal season in EuroNASCAR's premier championship. Ulysse Delsaux was another EuroNASCAR PRO driver to finish on a podium. The Frenchman finished third in a tight Junior Trophy battle and earned a nice cup for his trophy case. The Frenchman will continue his journey with Speedhouse in the 2024 season and with the help of Lasserre and his passionate engineers and mechanics, will look to get into the mix of overall title contenders.

"It was a good result for me this weekend as I scored a lot of points and did some nice overtaking," said Deslaux. "I finished third in the Junior Trophy and achieved my goal of finishing the season in the top 10 overall. I'm happy with seventh place and my progress, which included several top-10 finishes. I did better than my seasons in 2016 and 2019. Next year I want to keep the learning curve steep and be a regular finisher inside the top-5 and top-3.”

Arianna Casoli made history with her 42nd Lady Trophy race win and fourth Lady Trophy victory. The Italian had a strong season with ten Lady Trophy wins in twelve races and showed good progress at the wheel of the #14 Ford Mustang she shared with Delsaux. The Reggio Emilia native picked up the pace and continued to improve her skills throughout the season. With all her experience, Casoli wrote another chapter of her own in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series history books.

The Club Challenge saw two drivers finish on the podium: Rookie Florian Richard and two-time Club Challenger champion Alain Mosqueron. Both drivers were gunning for the title at Zolder, but had to settle for second and third. Still, both drivers impressed with their consistency throughout the season and both took home nice trophies. Richard is now working on making his way from the regularity challenge to EuroNASCAR 2. « I’m ready to make the move to EuroNASCAR 2, » he said. « The atmosphere in the team is great and I’d like to thank everyone for a great job.”

Matthias Hauer and Eric Quintal enjoyed the 2023 EuroNASCAR Finals and tried to make it to the podium in the Legend Trophy for drivers 40 and older in EuroNASCAR 2. Difficult weather conditions hampered their efforts, but both still had a great time in the woods of Limburg. « I want to thank my team boss Lucas and our mechanics for a great season, » said Hauer. « The cars were perfectly prepared every race weekend. Belgium and its fans are amazing, you feel really good from the first second. The Circuit Zolder is always a great challenge and on top of that we had tricky weather conditions. The event at the Circuit Zolder was a worthy end to a phenomenal season.”
