Successful comeback to Germany: A minimum of five Speedhouse drivers within the title battles

The French racing team fights for the EuroNASCAR PRO, Junior Trophy, Lady Trophy and Club Challenge titles

The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series was back in Germany at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and Speedhouse Racing had another strong weekend in front of 13,000 fans and NASCAR enthusiasts. The regular season finale marked an important point in the 2023 NWES season and after the two worst results of the first ten races were dropped, at least five Speedhouse drivers are still chasing titles in different categories. While team owner Lucas Lasserre is among the contenders for the EuroNASCAR PRO title, Ulysse Delsaux is fighting for the win in the Junior Trophy for drivers under the age of 25. Arianna Casoli dominates the Lady Trophy, while Alain Mosqueron tries to win a record-breaking third Club Challenge title. Florian Richard also has his hands on the Club Challenge trophy, while Eric Quintal and Matthias Hauer aim for strong results in the Legend Trophy for drivers aged 40 and more.

Four thrilling races and three exciting Club Challenge sessions highlight an excellent return to Germany at a new track on the NWES calendar. Lasserre struggled with punctures in both races, but the Pau native still sits third in the EuroNASCAR PRO standings heading into the finale at Circuit Zolder. The Frenchman is just 21 points behind championship leader Gianmarco Ercoli and with double points on the line, a first NWES ring for the Pau native is still within reach. "It wasn't the best weekend for me, but we had the pace to score good points in the top-5 in both races," said Lasserre. "Two DNFs wasn't what we were hoping for, but I'm very positive and looking forward to Zolder where I want to win the title."

Delsaux posted solid results in Germany, finishing eighth on Saturday and eleventh on Sunday. The Frenchman lost the lead in the EuroNASCAR PRO Junior Trophy standings, but he’s still close enough to the leaders to bounce back and win the title in Belgium. The 2018 EuroNASCAR 2 champion is eighth overall and just 15 points behind Liam Hezemans at the top of the Junior Trophy standings. With all his experience at Circuit Zolder, Delsaux is eager to take the next step, beat the competition and bring home his second major title of his amazing NWES career.

In EuroNASCAR 2, Arianna Casoli set the sails for her record-breaking fourth Lady Trophy title. The winningest lady in NASCAR Whelen Euro Series history had a solid weekend at Oschersleben and now looks forward to clinching the title at Circuit Zolder. Quintal and Hauer rounded out a good weekend for Lasserre’s team with good results in the Legend Trophy for drivers 40 and older. « Racing, style and good times » is the motto of the French powerhouse and it was lived at Oschersleben. Speedhouse interacted with the fans, put on a good show on the track and had a fantastic time together in the NWES paddock.

In the Club Challenge, Richard took his first win and finished second overall. The Frenchman has made good progress throughout the season and is now only 16 points behind leader Gordon Barnes. Mosqueron, who completed a strong 1-2 finish for Speedhouse, is third in the standings, 15 points behind Barnes. Both Richard and Mosqueron will do their best to overtake the Brit at the top of the standings and bring home the trophy for Speedhouse. The EuroNASCAR Finals will be held October 13-15. Qualifying and races will be streamed live on the EuroNASCAR YouTube channel.

« We had an amazing 1-2 finish in the Club Challenge with Florian and Alain, » said Lasserre. « Arianna took two wins in the Lady Trophy and both Eric and Matthias did a great job. The course is hard to learn and Matthias was really strong with his pace. We are happy to have at least five riders fighting for the title in different categories. We are in strong positions in all championships with all our riders and the whole team is looking forward to Zolder to bring home some nice trophies at the end of a fantastic year for Speedhouse.”
